Q4 Amazon FBA – Is It Too Late To Get Started?

Q4 Amazon FBAQ4 Amazon FBA – Is It Too Late To Get Started?

4th Quarter officially started on October 1st. If you are selling physical products on Amazon using their Fulfillment By Amazon or FBA program, then this is a busy time for you. A lot of sellers make 50% of their profit during November and December. To the average person, this doesn’t seem possible but it really is. It seems too good to be true. If you have not started selling on Amazon then you are probably thinking, Q4 Amazon FBA, is it too late to get started now? I can tell you based on my personal experience that the answer is no. I started Amazon FBA in the middle of November 2014 on a part-time basis. That was halfway through 4th Quarter.

Did I flounder? The answer is yes, I was brand new and had never sold physical products before. Did I make mistakes? Absolutely, I made mistakes. My account was even suspended for 1 day in the middle of December. Would I do it all over again? You bet. I was super successful and that success gave me the confidence to continue selling on Amazon. I became a full-time seller in October 2015.

There have been a lot of changes in the past few weeks including lots of restrictions. There are still thousands of products that you can sell. One of the great categories to sell in for 4th quarter is toys. That is the one category that I concentrated on in my first two Q4s. If you would like to learn more about toys, then check out the Holiday Toy Guide.

Whether you would like to earn extra money for the holidays or pay off bills or you want this to become another stream of income, Q4 is one of the best times to start. Early successes also give you encouragement to continue. This is a not a “get quick rich” scheme. There is a lot of work and you need to learn how to find profitable products.

I have a new complimentary e-course called How To Get Started With Amazon FBA During Q4.  This course will cover the following:

  • What is Amazon FBA
  • How Do I Get Started
  • What Do I Need To Get Started
  • What Can I Sell

  • How Do I Pick Products To Sell
  • How Do I Know If My Products Are Profitable
  • 10 Step Process TO Buy & Send Inventory To Amazon

To get started now, go to How To Get Started With FBA, fill in your first name and primary email address to get started now. This course will also include complimentary teleseminars to reinforce the course. During the teleseminars you will get a chance to ask questions if you attend them live. They will be recorded and will be available on the blog.

What Is A BOLO?

What is a BOLO?

BOLOBOLO means “Be On The Lookout For”. If you watch a lot of police shows, then you are probably familiar with this term.  This term has also been incorporated into the online selling world as well. In the ecommerce world, a BOLO is an item you want to keep a lookout for because you can get for a really good price and sell it for a great profit.

Generally, BOLOs are associated with Retail Arbitrage items but can also be associated with Online Arbitrage and Amazon-to-Amazon flips. Many times these are shared in groups and Facebook groups. There are many Facebook groups that are dedicated to sharing BOLOs. You may wonder why someone would share such a great deal with others. Maybe there are limited quantities in your local stores. There may be a limit to the number you can buy online.

There is a word of caution. Just because someone declares something a BOLO, doesn’t mean it is something you should buy. You need to determine if it meets your buying criteria. Some people are fine with a small Return On Investment or ROI if the item will sell quickly. Some people are okay with a slower selling item if they will get a higher ROI. It is imperative that you analyze the deal and make sure it meets your buying criteria.

The other thing about BOLOs is you have to act fast. A lot of times, BOLOs are associated with clearance items so there is a limited supply that will go quickly. Also, once a lot of people find out about it, the market becomes saturated. Some people are willing to tank the price so that they can sell their items. When I find a BOLO, I jump on it right away. In one case, I found a BOLO in a store. It was not clearance but a brand new item that was selling great. The store only had 20 and I bought all of them. I shipped them to Amazon right away. I sold 17 right away and then the sales stopped. When I researched it, I discovered that Amazon came onto the listing and was selling the product for 25% of what it was selling for previously. If I had waited to send in the item, I would have missed the BOLO completely. Even though this product was sold at a chain, I could only find it in one store in my area.

I have researched some paid BOLO groups but they were expensive or had some pretty restrictive rules. There is a BOLO group that just launched called BOLO Power. BOLO Power was launched by Chris Green who is one of the most respected individuals in the ecommerce world. BOLO Power requires its members to contribute one BOLO per week. In turn, you will get the list of all the BOLOs that were submitted by all of the members. Each deal includes all the information required to evaluate the deal. If you do you not submit a BOLO, then you only get the list generated from the admins which includes Chris Green. This group is very affordable and just launched. Sign up now, contribute a BOLO and you will get your first list on Sunday.

Why Is My Amazon FBA Inventory Reserved?

Amazon FBA Inventory ReservedWhy Is My Amazon FBA Inventory Reserved?

If you are an Amazon FBA seller then I am sure you have experienced your inventory being in reserve. In the Amazon FBA Facebook Groups, this is a frequent question. Why is my Amazon FBA inventory reserved and what does that mean?

There are several reasons why your inventory may be in reserve. Click this link to find out the explanation from Seller Central. You have to have a Seller Central account to see the page. There are three reasons why your inventory is reserved:

  • Customer Order
  • Fulfillment Center Transfer
  • Fulfillment Center Processing

Reserved Inventory Reason #1

If there is a customer order that has not been shipped yet, then you will have inventory reserved for that order. This inventory will also show up as a pending order.

Reserved Inventory Reason #2

If your inventory is being transferred from one fulfillment center to another fulfillment center, then the reserve reason is Fulfillment Center Transfer. When I create my shipments, at least some of inventory goes to a Distribution Center. A Distribution Center ships your inventory to other Fulfillment Centers. During this process your inventory shows up as reserved. There are pros and cons to your inventory being shipped to a Distribution Center. The pro is that your inventory is not split among a lot of fulfillment centers which can increase shipping costs. The con is that once your inventory is checked into the Distribution Center, your listings show up as backordered while it is being shipped to other warehouses.

Reserved Inventory Reason #3

The last reason is because your inventory needs additional processing. The additional processing could be for verification of the dimensions and weight of the product or other pending investigations. Amazon stated on their Help Page that inventory that is being processed for transfer can show up under both Fulfillment Center Transfer and Fulfillment Center Processing for a short time.

Reserved Inventory Report

There is a report that you can run to find out what inventory is in reserve and why. Go to Reports and then Fulfillment. Under Inventory select Reserved Inventory. This report can’t be viewed online so you must select “Request Download”. Once the report has been generated, you can select the Download button. The report will be downloaded as a csv file. You can open this file in Microsoft Excel.

If you are new to Amazon FBA, there is a lot of information that you must learn. Here are 3 free videos that you can watch to get you started.

Amazon FBA – A Solution If You Are Struggling In Your Online Business

Amazon FBADo you feel like you are struggling in your online business? You are making some money but not enough to pay all of your bills, live comfortably or replace your income. In order to be successful in online marketing, you have to be consistent and have multiple ways for people to buy from you. You need multiple products or affiliate offers. If you have a full-time job, this can be challenging depending on the type of job you have. For me, there are times when I have time to work on my business in the evenings and weekends. Then there are times where I am working 10-12 hours during the week and also working on the weekends. Unfortunately, the latter is more of my norm right now.

You find yourself in a “Catch-22” position You are developing your online business to replace your income so you can leave your job. Your job is taking up all of your time so you cannot work on your business. This is very frustrating and can cause you to become very discouraged, overwhelmed and want to give up. You have to keep your eyes on the prize and remember “your why”. Why did you want to have an online marketing business in the first place?

One thing that I started in mid-November was Fulfillment By Amazon (Amazon FBA). I started in the middle of 4th quarter which is the most profitable time to sell on Amazon. I started with Retail Arbitrage where I would go to stores and find products that I would sell for a profit. I focused on toys and did very well. Now that the holiday has ended, I have diversified into other categories.

I have made some mistakes along the way, but I did not give up. I have started buying more things online. Buying online required a little different criteria than picking up inventory in a store. You have to ensure that you have enough profit just in case the price drops or rank increases before you can ship to Amazon.

I would strongly encourage you to add this stream of income to your online business especially if your business is currently part-time. For me, this has been a way to jump start my online income. Amazon is something that is familiar to the masses. Millions of people buy merchandise from Amazon. Amazon is the biggest e-commerce site so your target market is massive.

One of the courses that I recommend to learn all about Amazon FBA is Proven Amazon Course by Jim Cockrum. This course covers all aspects of Amazon FBA including retail arbitrage, wholesaling, sourcing online, private label as well as sourcing from China.  I strongly encourage you to take advantage of Proven Amazon Course while it is on sale and before the price increases.

Selling Private Label Physical Products on Amazon

private label physical productsMost online marketers are familiar with making money with Amazon by publishing Kindle books through Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), publishing physical books through Create Space and becoming an Amazon affiliate through the Amazon Associates program. These are all great programs but you probably won’t be able to quit your job with these programs.

A lot of people are also starting to use the Fulfillment by Amazon or FBA program. In this case, you find products either online or at stores that you can sell for a profit. You ship them to Amazon and they are sold just like any another product on Amazon. Amazon collects the money and ships the items to the customer. Amazon handles the customer service as well. This business model is more lucrative than the ones mentioned previously.

There is another of aspect of FBA which is not as popular but is gaining popularity and visibility. You sell your own private label physical products on Amazon. You actually contact manufacturers and produce a product with your own brand. This will allow you to create a truly sustainable business that can support your family. Adding your own private label gives your product more value.

You may not have been aware that you can compete with the “big boys”. You can create your own brand with your own label. There are many benefits to developing your own brand. I will just name a few. It is cheaper to buy unbranded products than ones that are part of an existing brand. You don’t have to invest in a manufacturing plant, machines or personnel.

The good thing about manufacturing your own private label products is you can order in small quantities. I am in the final stages of manufacturing my first private label product and I was able to order only 160 units. This gives me a chance to test this product and make any tweaks.

If you would like to learn more about manufacturing and selling your own private label physical products on Amazon then you should check out Proven Private Label. This step-by-step course teaches you how to sell private label physical products on Amazon, eBay and Google.

Get Proven Private Label so you can learn how to profit from this lucrative business model.

Your State of Independence

IndependenceIndependence is something that everyone wants. According to the dictionary, the definition of independence is “freedom from the control, influence, support, aid, or the like, of others”. I know by virtue that I live in the United States; I have the ability to have more independence and freedom than many people in other parts of the world. But when you really think about it, do I really have freedom from the control of others?

I would say not in my case. I still have a full-time job where I work for someone. Since I have an employer, do I really have freedom from control? I have a supervisor and manager that I must answer to. I have vacation but I must get permission to use it. My company decides how much I will be compensated for the position I hold. If you are still working for someone, I would ask you to determine how independent and free you really are.

I believe that when you leave the corporate world behind, then you can really have independence and freedom. The problem is how do I replace my corporate income? Your lifestyle has probably kept up with your income. You may have a mortgage, car note, student loans or credit card debt? You can’t just walk away from your job but you can start on a part-time basis.

There are a lot of online marketing businesses that you can start. You can do affiliate marketing, create information products or sell physical products. I actually do all three but I think the fastest way to get started quickly is to sell physical products on Amazon. Fulfillment by Amazon or FBA is the program that allows you to sell products on Amazon.

You can find bargains at stores and ship them to Amazon to sell. You do not need a list, your own information product or an affiliate product to promote. If you don’t like to shop you can also find products online to sell on Amazon. There are many books and training that teach you how to do this. There are two books that I recommend. The Amazing Amazon Genie: FBA: How To Earn A Full-Time Profit With Amazon FBA, Starting With $0 And These Little-Known Secrets by Dennis Becker teaches you everything you need to know to get started with Fulfillment by Amazon. Arbitrage: The authoritative guide on how it works, why it works, and how it can work for you by Chris Green also teaches you the details needed to be successful with FBA.

If you prefer videos as opposed to print, then I recommend Jessica Larrew’s course. She has a beginning course as well as the full course. Amazon Boot Camp – Basic Training includes 14 videos that includes everything you need to get started selling on Amazon. This is a great package if you want to learn without investing a lot of money. Amazon Boot Camp includes step-by-step training as well as a private Facebook group. This package includes 33 videos. If you know this is something you want to do, then I recommend that you get the full package. If you unsure if selling on Amazon is right for you, then watch 3 free videos. Jessica also has other training that covers specialized topics such as Back To School and Online Sourcing Strategies.

I believe that everyone needs another source of income outside of their job even if they do not desire to leave the corporate world behind. Selling on Amazon is a viable option.

The Amazing Amazon Genie: FBA Review

The Amazing Amazon Genie: FBA ReviewDo you like to shop? Can you ship a box? Are you good at finding bargains? If so, then this may be just the thing for you. Fulfillment by Amazon or FBA gives you the opportunity to sell other people’s products or your own products on Amazon.  That’s right; everything that is sold on Amazon is not their own merchandise. Ordinary people just like you and me can sell on Amazon.

There are two ways to sell other people’s products on Amazon. You can you participate in the merchant fulfilled or Fulfillment by Amazon program.  With merchant fulfilled, you put your listings on Amazon, but you actually are responsible for shipping the products to the buyer.  This is the easiest way to get started as far as the investment required.  You can even find things in your house that you can sell such as books, DVDs, etc.  You can also use FBA to sell other people’s products.  You go to the store find bargains, ship them to Amazon and let Amazon sell them. The great thing about this is that you can take advantage of the Amazon Prime program.  Amazon Prime is a membership where buyers can get 2 day shipping for free.

The last way to sell on Amazon is to find a private label manufacturer and sell your own product.  You create a brand, create your unique label and have the manufacturer ship directly to Amazon. I was unaware that this was even possible until about a month ago.  I am currently in the process of getting a product manufactured right now.

The opportunities that are possible with FBA are endless.  There are people that are making over 100K a month from their private label product.  There are many advantages to this approach but there is more of an investment required than selling other people’s products.  You have to find a product that will sell, find a manufacturer, create a brand and create your own labels. If you are a little nervous about private labeling, then you should pick the option where you find bargains.

There are so many courses that are available that range in price from about $100 all the way up to $4000. The good news is that a new product was just released that removes the barrier to entry. Dennis Becker’s The Amazing Amazon Genie: FBA teaches you how to sell on Amazon using merchant fulfilled, retail arbitrage or private label. This 139 page guide includes the steps to get started as well as all of the resources you need to be successful.

The Amazing Amazon Genie: FBA shows you were you can find bargain products, things you need to ship your products, how to pack your items for Amazon, how to list your items as well as how to price your items.

This product also comes with 3 checklists:

  • Retail Arbitrage 30 Day Checklist
  • Private Label 30 Day Checklist
  • How To Get Started With a $0 Budget Checklist

I am so excited about the number of people that this product can help. If you want some extra income you can use this product.  If you want to make a full-time income you can use this product.  If you have teens that need a summer job, why not set up a company and let them work for you this summer.
